You may have heard of the city of Troy, the Trojan War, the wooden horse, and Helen, the most beautiful woman in the world. But there’s much more to the ancient myth of Troy. It is well worth a visit to explore the gap between myth and history.

Take Helen of Troy. Was she abducted, did she go willingly, why isn’t she known as Helen of Sparta? Why is she stinted in Homer’s Iliad, and never even makes it to Troy in Euripides’ eponymous play?
