- EXPLAIN your ideas
- EVALUATE THE IMPORTANCE OF FACTORS IN RELATION TO EACH OTHER throughout the essay not just in the conclusion
- LINK FACTORS – don’t simply list these to show you know where they are – EXPLAIN HOW they impact upon the question and what they show about the importance of the factors.
- USE CRUCHY DETAILS TO SUPPORT YOUR POINTS – DO NOT MAKE SWEEPING GENERALISATIONS
- Define any important words in the question – e.g. what do we mean by effective?
- SUGGEST your line of argument
- You could refer to any historical debate surrounding the topic – e.g. for KQ3 and KQ6
- DO NOT simply restate the question
- A good conclusion could be the difference between an A and a B grade
- Must be ARGUMENT centred – you must make a judgement and substantiate this
- YOU SHOULD NOT sit on the fence
